Recent Phishing Wave

SolutionIn the past few days Community members have reported receiving confirmation e-mails supposedly coming from Kijiji for ads they haven’t placed. In these e-mails, fraudsters ask users to activate their newly created Ads. Upon clicking on the provided link, users are directed to enter details at a fake website whose look and feel are almost identical to the legitimate Kijiji site.

These messages are NOT affiliated with Kijiji in any way. In general, phishing is a way of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames and passwords by masquerading as a trustworthy entity. If you followed the link within the email you may want to change your password as a precaution.

Members are encouraged to forward any such phishing e-mails to "spoof@kijiji.ca". We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience as a result of this situation.
